What makes a good grant application? What should be included in the proposal? Why does the funder want a community needs assessment? Is there a right way to do a budget? This presentation will offer tips on how to complete a typical grant proposal, avoid common mistakes in the application process, and improve your chances to get funding for that great program idea you have. SpeakerKarren Reish Karren Reish is the Library Grants Coordinator at the Library of Michigan. With a background in academic and public libraries, she has worked at the Library of Michigan as the federal LSTA grants coordinator for 17 years. She also works as a consultant to school librarians. Currently she manages the federal LSTA funds for the Library of Michigan services, the grant programs to libraries, and the School Library 21st Century benchmarks program.
