MLA 2018 Literary Award Winners

MLA 2019 Call for Proposals Now Open

The MLA 2019 Annual Conference work group seeks a variety of program and poster proposals on topics addressing the wide range of professional responsibilities found in libraries. Library professionals interested in sharing their insights, experiences, and knowledge are invited to submit a proposal for consideration. Librarians, staff and administrators from all types of libraries are encouraged to participate.

MLA 2019-2020 Board of Directors Election

MLA will hold elections for the Board of Directors April 8 - April 22. This year MLA members will vote for an MLA President-elect and four member-at-large board positions. These positions will serve for a three-year term beginning July 2019 and ending June 2022.

President's Update - January 10, 2019

Happy New Year! With a new year comes resolutions and the aspirations of new goals. This year the Michigan Library Association Board's top priority is to search for, select, hire and onboard a new MLA director. The search committee has spoken with the recruiter from ASAE several times. The recruiter is writing a job posting that will be up and posted by February 1. We feel confident that the recruiter knows what MLA needs and wants in our next leader. As the search progresses, please share with me your ideas, hopes and suggestions in regard to our new director.
