MDHHS Director Revises and Extends Emergency Order
November 3, 2020
On Thursday, October 29, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) revised and extended its emergency epidemic orders in a continued effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. The Emergency Order Under MCL 333.2253 – Gatherings and Face Mask Order moves the Traverse City region back to phase 4 (in line with the rest of the state) and implements new requirements for social gatherings. The order takes effect immediately and remains in effect until rescinded. New restrictions include:
- Lowers the maximum indoor gathering limit from 500 to 50
- Caps the number of customers per table at bars and restaurants at six
- Requires bars and restaurants to collect the name and phone number of all in-person customers
