Abundant Waters at Clarke Historical Library, CMU

Thursday, March 10
6:00 - 8:00 PM

Spring Institute attendees are invited to a private showing of the Clarke Historical Library’s new exhibit, “Abundant Waters: Our Relationship with Michigan’s Most Precious Resource.” Michigan’s geography is characterized by the world’s largest freshwater system—The Great Lakes. Beyond “big” water, Michigan has over 11,000 inland lakes, 76,000 miles of rivers, and 6.5 million acres of wetlands. The abundance of freshwater is an aspect of our lives that most of us take for granted. Although most of us are aware of this precious resource, how often do we truly contemplate our relationships with water? The Clarke Historical Library’s exhibit explores how abundant freshwater defines Michigan. Total attendance is capped at 50 people.
