Earlier today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer sent a letter to Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson calling for a special election to fill the vacant seats. Governor Whitmer is calling for a special primary election to be held on January 30, 2024, and the general election to be held on April 16, 2024.
