MLA Awarded Nonprofit Relief Grant

MLA has been awarded a grant of $25,000 from the Michigan Nonprofit Relief Fund, a collaborative fund of the Michigan Nonprofit Association and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.

This award may be used as a general operating grant pursuant to the Department of the Treasury Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) Final Rule effective April 1, 2022.

Join Jocelyn Giangrande as she facilitates a conversation to help MLA members develop a systematic approach to diversity and inclusion that drives buy-in, sustainability and metrics for success.

Jocelyn Giangrande

Jocelyn Giangrande, M.A., SPHR, CCDP, SHRM-SCP

Giangrande specializes in people and organizational dynamics and is an expert in adult learning and cultural transformations. She’s held executive positions at Henry Ford Health System as Vice President of Talent & Workforce Strategies, Corporate Director for Workforce Diversity & AA/EEO Compliance as well as the position of Executive Director of Human Resources and Regional Support for Hilton Hotel Corporation.

Having taught courses at the School of Business Administration at Oakland University, Marygrove College in Detroit, Inforum’s Executive Leadership Program as well as the Henry Ford Health System’s Leadership Academies, Giangrande has a unique combination of expertise that provides a well-rounded experience.

A certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a graduate of Cornell University Diversity Leadership Program, Giangrande earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Colby College, a Masters of Arts degree in Human Resources Management, from Marygrove College and is a graduate and facilitator of Inforum’s Center for Women’s Executive Leadership program.

MLA is committed to leading the advancement of Michigan's libraries through advocacy, education, and engagement; this has been demonstrated over the last year by the creation of MI Right to Read and a statewide PR campaign for public libraries, as well as ongoing advocacy for increased State Aid, protecting penal fines and much more. The MLA Board supports the mission of MLA by providing financial and policy oversight as well as setting the strategic direction for the organization.
