aci LLC. Ms. Harkema specializes in equity and inclusive leadership trainin
g within the Fortune 500, small businesses and non-profit organizations. Sh
e is currently writing a book on her story, including her experience as a p
erson of color and as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community in Michigan.

nformation and terminology in regard to gender identity and sexual orientat
ion, how intersectionality with race, disability and more shape the identit
ies of library patrons, and some best practices to make libraries more incl
usive spaces. Ms. Boston is certified school media library specialist Michi
gan and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

esentation by Dr. Jessica Garcia building more inclusive libraries, includi
ng the concept of implicit bias and how it manifests, and actionable steps
to reduce bias in our encounters. Dr. Garcia is the founder and CEO of Humm
ingbird Solutions, LLC, a diversity and inclusion firm. She has consulted w
ith and trained thousands of participants from the public and private secto
rs on topics such as best business practices, implicit bias, and microaggre
ssions. She also serves as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager for
the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michig
an-Ann Arbor.
