Think about how much you appreciate it when a colleague leads a session that helps you do your job better or gives you a great idea. You could be THAT colleague! (Our thanks to MSAE for these great ideas for ways to present sessions!)
Here are five ideas for sessions YOU could present at MLA 2024 Annual Conference:
- Facilitate a conversation on a topic you're particularly concerned about and have the group come up with solutions.
- Share an actual case study of a situation that happened in your library and have the group debrief it and re-engineer it.
- Put together a panel of colleagues whose work you admire and serve as moderator of the conversation.
- Present on a topic that you're passionate about - work/life balance and self-care, humor in the workplace, culture, ethics, leadership, intellectual freedom, successful partnerships, programming wins and losses, an important function of your position, the future of libraries, etc.
- Have a fireside chat session by interviewing your mentor.
Proposals are due by June 7, 2024. We hope yours will be included for the workgroup's consideration!
