Successful fundraising can supplement a substantial portion of your library’s budget if you know how to do it right.

Fundraising Bootcamp – the Changing Face of Philanthropy 

Join Carole J. Pence, President of Pence Consulting in an intensive, day-long workshop, covering key fundraising concepts. Using these strategies, you will identify a unique libraries constituents and how to better identify your key prospects for both major and planned gifts. 

Fundraising Bootcamp will cover key fundraising principles; what is needed to write your case for support; learn the difference between a donation and cultivation of a major gift; how to solicit different types of gifts using different communication strategies; and a brief introduction to planned giving by promoting a legacy gift through a wills program. 

This workshop will give you the tools you need to either begin your first campaign or enhance an already established giving program.

Introduction to Fundraising
Carole J. Pence, MA, Pence Consulting 

Carole J. Pence, MA, is President of Pence Consulting, a privately-held consulting firm based in Marquette, Michigan. 

Carole is known for finding practical solutions for raising money and considers herself a Philanthropic Specialist. Her expertise is focused on campaigns for the Annual, Endowment, Capital and Special Projects. She also provides technical support for writing the case for support, fund development planning and board development. 

She is on the faculty of the Indiana University, Center on Philanthropy, the Fund Raising School, and adjunct professor at Lawrence Technological University. She also serves as a consultant for the BEST Project, a comprehensive capacity building program in Genesee County and the Nonprofit Alliance at Kellogg Community College.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received in writing by email no later than five (5) business days prior to the program in order to qualify for a refund. A $25.00 processing fee will be applied to refunds for workshops. Within ten (5) business days of the event, no refund will be issued. No-shows will be invoiced.
